Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine devil's food cake mix, oil, water, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- Pour chocolate cake batter into the baking dish and layer the ricotta mixture on top.
- Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly jiggly.
- While cooling, prepare frosting with chocolate pudding mix and whole milk, then fold in Cool Whip.
- Once cooled, frost the cake with the chocolate pudding mixture and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
