Preparation Steps
- Prepare garlic by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roast whole heads of garlic wrapped in foil for 40-60 minutes until soft.
- Make garlic butter by mashing roasted garlic with softened butter and chopped parsley until combined.
- Combine warm milk, active dry yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, milk powder, and salt. Pour in the frothy yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter to form a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl and cover.
- Let the dough rise in a warm area for 1.5 hours until it has doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle. Spread garlic butter and sprinkle mozzarella. Roll tightly and cut into 2-inch pieces.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush rolls with beaten egg and sprinkle additional cheese. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
